Parsa National Park protects around 627 sq km of sal forest, grassland and riverine jungle in the central Terai, sharing a contiguous wildlife corridor with Chitwan. It shelters Bengal tigers, a resident herd of wild Asian elephants, leopards, sloth bears, gaur and over 500 bird species. Much less touristed than Chitwan, Parsa rewards visitors with peaceful jeep safaris, jungle walks and birdwatching, plus easy access from the East-West Highway.
