Safety Tips

Always register with your embassy before trekking

Purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering helicopter evacuation up to 6,000m

Carry a photocopy of your passport and visa separately from originals

Download offline maps before heading to remote areas

Inform your hotel/agency of your trekking itinerary

Never trek alone in remote areas — always use a registered guide

Acclimatize properly — never ascend more than 500m per day above 3,000m

Carry altitude sickness medication (Diamox) on high-altitude treks

Drink at least 3-4 liters of water per day at altitude

Purify all water — use purification tablets or UV sterilizers

Be cautious with street food — stick to freshly cooked, hot meals

Keep emergency contact numbers saved offline on your phone

Carry a basic first aid kit on all treks

Know the symptoms of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) and HACE/HAPE

If you feel unwell at altitude, do not ascend — descend immediately
