Everything you need to know about visiting Nepal
Most nationalities can obtain a tourist visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) or at overland border crossings.
Available at Tribhuvan International Airport and land border crossings. Can also apply online for e-visa.
Indian nationals can enter Nepal without a visa. Valid Indian passport or voter ID required.
Chinese nationals can get visa on arrival. Group visa available for organized tours.
Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka nationals get visa on arrival at reduced rates.
Some nationalities must obtain visa before arrival. Check with the nearest Nepal embassy.
• Visa fees must be paid in cash (USD preferred) or by credit card at the airport
• Bring exact change if paying in cash
• Visa extensions available at Department of Immigration, Kathmandu (up to 150 days/year)
• Overstaying your visa incurs a fine of $5/day for the first 30 days, $10/day thereafter
• E-Visa is available online — apply before arrival to save time at the airport
