Mugu / Karnali
Rara Lake, the 'Queen of Lakes', is the largest lake in Nepal, a brilliant blue expanse ringed by forested hills and snow peaks within Rara National Park. The trek through the remote Mugu and Jumla districts is far off the tourist trail, passing traditional villages and pristine pine and juniper forest, and is best reached via a flight to Jumla.
